We are expecting to see new 2018 Hyundai Veloster on the market very soon. Veloster is actually three-door hatchback, with very strange design. It has only one door on the driver’s side and two at the passenger’s side. Test cars were already seen on the road. Production of future 2018 Veloster will be based on new J5 platform, which was already used on the new i30. Design looks more aggressive than on current model. Thanks to the implementation of new platform Hyundai Veloster 2018 will be more rigid than before, and it will also have more improved suspension. Front end features big grille and refreshed headlights. It looks like heat extractors were mounted on the hood. Rear end will share most of its layout with i30 model. Several trim levels should be offered. 2018 Veloster equipment will probably include sports bucket seats, sports steering wheel and maybe even a roll-cage.
2018 Hyundai Veloster engine and fuel economy
2018 Hyundai Veloster will probably be 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged unit. This engine is capable of generating 201 horsepower on the current version. We expect to see slightly improved power output on 2018 model. Engine will send all the power to the front wheels through 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration time from 0 to 60 mph should be set around 7 seconds. Hyundai will also offer more powerful 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. Power output for this unit is sill questionable, but it could produce anything between 250 and 300 horsepower. Six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive will be offered as standard, while dual-clutch gearbox will be available as optional upgrade. 2018 Hyundai Veloster fuel economy specs will be available in the near future.
