Not so long ago, Hyundai has revealed Santa Cruz concept. They have not officially confirmed release of the production version yet, but we could easily see new 2018 Hyundai Santa Cruz very soon. Although concept version design was actually more aggressive Santa Fe, production ready version could be more similar to Santa Fe.
Exterior design will share same front fascia, along with new hood, wider wheels and wider fenders. Bed is expected at the back, as well as the modular cabin. Speaking of interior design, it will probably be based on Tucson and Santa Fe. 2018 Santa Cruz equipment will include a 360-degree camera system, an automatic trailer sway-control system and outdoor entertainment system, along with power outlets and external speakers.
2018 Hyundai Santa Cruz engine performance and fuel economy specs
2018 Hyundai Santa Cruz engine will most likely be 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 powertrain. This engine is also powering Genesis Coupe model. It is capable to deliver power ranging from 210 horsepower up to 274 horsepower. On the other hand, transmission and all-wheel drive system should be borrowed from Santa Fe SUV. Second engine choice could be 3.3-liter V6 powertrain from Santa Fe also. Maximum output power for this engine is set at 290 horsepower. Both engines will be mated to either 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Towing capacity is still a mystery, but some rumors indicate around 2500 pounds, which is not promising at all. Fuel economy numbers will be available in the future.
2018 Hyundai Santa Cruz release date and price review
2018 Hyundai Santa Cruz price for base model could be set around $30,000. There are still no announcements regarding 2018 Hyundai Santa Cruz release date. Considering that concept version looked almost production ready, we do expect to see it on the market by the end of 2017.
