Back in 2011 Cadillac revealed the Ciel concept car, which looked absolutely amazing. Considering that production version would have to cost more than $100,000, they have decided to cancel the production before it even started. Now, in 2016 we have some new rumors and speculations about future 2018 Cadillac Ciel. Offering high-performance luxury convertible and coupe in their lineup, would be a great move for Cadillac.
This way, they would keep up with the competition and their models such as Lexus LC and Mercedes SL. Production of future Cadillac Ciel should be based on the modular Alpha platform. This will enable Cadillac Ciel to offer high level of comfort, as well as amazing performance on the road. Interior design solutions will certainly be different than one seen on 2011 concept. We expect to see design more similar to the CT6 and CTS models. Inside, it can accommodate up to 4 passengers in very comfortable and luxurious interior. Speculations suggest that new Cadillac Ciel will not get hard top. Instead, it will be fitted with soft top, which has its advantages in some segments. For example, this will enable much more space in the trunk.
2018 Cadillac Ciel engine performance specs
2018 Cadillac Ciel engine choice will probably include two different powertrains. Base model will most likely be powered by twin-turbocharged V6 engine. This V6 can develop around 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. This engine will use both all-wheel and rear-wheel drive system. Top of the range 2018 Ciel should be powered by new twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Power output for this V8 engine is still a mystery. Rumor has it that this V8 unit could develop between 500 and 700 horsepower. V8 engine will only be available with rear-wheel drive, along with 10-speed automatic gearbox.
