We are expecting from BMW to release redesigned version of their X5 SUV. This model will sell as 2018 BMW X5. Production of future 2018 X5 will be based on new CLAR platform (Cluster Architecture). 2018 BMW X5 engine will be 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged unit with 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine will power 2WD sDrive30i and AWD xDrive30i. 3.0-liter inline-six engine generating 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque will be mounted in sDrive35i and xDrive35i. 4.4-liter V8 engine producing 456 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque will power 2018 X5 xDrive50i. 2018 X5 xDrive40e plug-in hybrid will come with 2.0-liter 4cylinder engine and battery electric power generating 308 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. All models will come equipped with 8-speed automatic transmission. 2018 BMW X5 fuel economy specs for 30i versions should be rated at 20/27/23 mpg. BMW X5 sDrive35i will do 18/26/22 mpg, while xDrive35i will do 18/25/21 mpg.

2018 BMW X5 is expected in late 2017. Main rivals on the SUV market will be Tesla Model X, Mercedes GLE, Acura MDX, Porsche Cayenne, Maserati Levante and Land Rover Range Rover Sport. 2018 BMW X5 price for sDrive30i and xDrive 30i should be set at $51,000 and $53,300 respectively. sDrive35i should sell for $59,500, while xDrive35i will be priced at $61,800. xDrive50i price should be set around $76,500, while hybrid xDrive40e will sell for $66,000.
